Northern Children's Services has been serving Philadelphia foster children since it's founding in 1853 as the "Northern Home for Friendless Children. We have helped the staff and youth reestablish their Children's garden and cultivate it through the spring and summer, teaching gardening skills and connecting neighbors with the Northern Homes during gardening days.

The Environmental center on the edge of West Philadelphia and Delaware County in Cobb Creek Park serves as hub for the neighborhood to connect to nature, and family learning activities. We have been teaching girl scout troops, community groups and other curious neighbors about the science and natural history of perfumes by making rosewater and other floral waters into their own perfumes.
Benjamin Rush Medicinal Garden – College of Physicians of Philadelphia – Center City, PA
The College of Physicians of Philadelphia was founded in 1787 by 24 physician fellows, including Benjamin Rush, one of he signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Benjamin Rush Garden at the College honors Dr. Rush’s study of medicinal plants with a program of study and teaching for the Physician fellows and the public. As a fellow, I’m putting together Rose Water making sessions to connect the doctors and community to the practical use of the garden, ending with a cup of fresh rose petal tea.

Our family has been working with scouting at White Rock Baptist Church as our daughter went from Brownie to a Girl Scout earning the Gold Star. I continue to work with Philadelphia troops and the Landsdowne Troop, providing rose water making sessions and Fragrance workshops to demonstrate the science of perfume making and introduction to fragrance as a business
